Free Ring Removal Service

Got a ring stuck on your finger?
Stone Theory Studio provides a free ring removal service from our Eaglehawk workshop. No appointment is required, and no fee is charged.
If a ring has become too tight due to weight changes, injury, arthritis, pregnancy, fluid retention or swelling, our specialised ring cutting equipment allows us to safely remove the ring without damaging your finger.
In most cases, the ring can then be repaired, resized and returned to wearable condition once the finger has recovered.
No Appointment Required
If you have a ring that is stuck and cannot be safely removed at home, simply visit our Eaglehawk studio during business hours.
There is:
- No appointment required
- No consultation fee
- No charge for ring removal
Our priority is ensuring the ring is removed safely before it causes pain, circulation issues or further swelling.
How Does Ring Removal Work?
We use a specialised jewellery ring-cutting tool designed specifically for removing rings from fingers safely.
The tool creates a fine saw cut through the ring while a protective guard sits between the ring and your skin.
At no point does the cutting blade come into contact with the finger.
The result is a clean, controlled cut that allows the ring to be opened and removed with minimal damage.
In many cases, the ring can later be resized or rejoined with little evidence that it was ever cut.
Why Not Just Use Bolt Cutters?
Unfortunately, some businesses and emergency services use bolt cutters, side cutters or snips to remove rings.
While these methods may be appropriate in an emergency situation, they typically crush, distort and damage the metal where the cut is made.
This often results in a more complex and expensive repair afterwards.
Our specialised ring-cutting equipment is designed specifically for jewellery and creates a fine, precise cut that preserves as much of the original ring as possible.
Of course, if the situation is a genuine emergency and immediate removal is required, any safe method is preferable to leaving the ring on the finger.
However, we strongly recommend having a tight ring removed before it becomes an emergency.
Can The Ring Be Repaired Afterwards?
In most cases, yes.
Once the ring has been removed, it can usually be rejoined, repaired and resized.
However, we generally recommend waiting before resizing.
Why Should I Wait Before Resizing My Ring?
A ring that has become stuck will often cause swelling in the finger.
Even after the ring is removed, it can take time for the finger to return to its normal size.
For this reason, we usually recommend waiting one to two weeks before resizing the ring.
Resizing too soon can result in an inaccurate size, potentially requiring the ring to be resized a second time.
A little patience now can save both time and money later.
Important Safety Information
We can only perform ring removal where:
- The skin is intact
- There are no open wounds
- There are no signs of infection
- The finger is not showing signs of severe medical distress
If there is broken skin, infection, significant injury, severe swelling, loss of circulation or any medical concern, we recommend attending your nearest hospital emergency department immediately.
Your health and safety must always come first.
